Daughter, Mother, Holy Ghost — MaxxM Studio Cave

I made the video work ‘Steady Can’ in 2016 to chronicle my trajectory out of disordered eating - it is the first in a trilogy of works (*Daughter*, Mother, Holy Ghost).

The titles of the image & video tabs connect to create a poem that reveals itself as the video unfolds / the tabs are clicked on from the pile.

The second work in the series is titled Sowing with the Reaper. I made the installation in 2020 by collecting all of the take out containers I used for the 6 months leading up to the exhibition. The containers were filled with sand from the Rockaways and placed on scales. The weight of the sand was set to a weight that corresponded with a letter in the alphabet (ex. A=1, B=2, C=3, etc.) The scales read:
